[ The feed suddenly turns on and it's a rather close up of Erika's face. She's not exactly looking into the camera, as she is adjusting and readjusting to the feed is straight and steady. ]

.. Aaaand, fixed! Ta-daaaaaaaaah~!

[ And with that, Erika pulls away from the video feed, and inside the one of the larger sewing rooms the Fairy Drop has to offer are mannequins upon mannequins in complete outfits. All of them different from the other with no real theme... ]

Look at that! You're all looking at the work of the great Erika Kurumi! I managed to get everyone's outfits together with time enough to spare for the school festival!

[ There's an indiscernible mumble in the background which illicits a very brief glare from the fashionista before she plasters on that super confident, albeit tired, grin on her face. ]

This fashion show is going to totally rock the school! I can just feel it!

History: Erika Kurumi's biography & The HCPC wiki!

Personality: Erika Kurumi at a first glance is mischevious, outspoken, loud, very energetic and a very "my pace" type of person as she's described in the first episode of the series. Half the time, she doesn't even notice that she makes people uncomfortable with how open she is with her own opinions, regardless of how true her words are. While this encompasses the majority of Erika, she does have more depth to her and really, the only ones who have ever seen her deep woes and worries are her close friends -- Tsubomi Hanasaki and much later, Itsuki Myoudoin and Yuri Tsukikage.

See, Erika is the youngest of two siblings and comes from a family of famous individuals. First is her mother who is a retired but still very popular model turned fashion designer. Her father is also famous for his world renouned photography (which also landed him a chance to meet Erika's mom on a photoshoot. Score!) and her older sister Momoka followed in her mother's modeling footsteps and is leading a very fruitful and exciting career. Even if her parents have never forced any kind of life on their child, there's still that pressure to do something spectacular, especially in regards to her older sister. In the beginning, Erika can't stand her sister -- how popular she is and how she has it so easy since she's a model. In a nut shell, Erika has a negative sister complex with all the mixings of jealous and inferiority. Through the series, the worst parts of her complex are resolved due to Tsubomi's interferrence and the interferrence of the the monster of the week, and instead leaves the beginnings of a healthy sibling relationship.

Erika is an absolute fashion nut influenced by her family upbringing. She enjoys fashion in all forms and even formed a fashion club in junior high. As club president, she shows all the qualities a president for leadership, organization and fun for everyone involved. She will do pretty much what it takes to bring people into the club / make sure no one is trying to sweep her club members away and will go so far as friendly bribing and going with her friends to their other clubs to make sure everything is peachy keen. ...

There is no limit to the energy that Erika has. This girl has learned to harness her energy and use it for any means. Whether it be instant and unlimited overboard reactions to things that happen around her to being able to make everyone around her go with "her pace". For example: Student Body President Itsuki Myoudoin is opposed to doing anything too 'girly' despite going out with the fashion club to look for cute fabric and before she can completely convince Erika and Tsubomi that she shouldn't get too involved, Erika has already gotten Tsubomi to start on Itsuki's tunic design and gotten Itsuki to completely forget her convictions -- even if it was for just a little while.

When it comes down to it, Erika is not opposed to opening her mouth and letting her thoughts out, confident in her convictions and her actions. If something seems out of place or she notices something that the rest don't, she won't hesitate to say anything about it or at least let on that she knows something is up. Her observations aren't limited to the fun things, as she's also been known to try and make a tense situation easier to handle by moving conversations to more private locations and gently urging individuals to talk their feelings out. She also expects the same from those she calls friends. The great Erika Kurumi is not a mind reader.. even if she's gung ho about something she's the kind of girl that wants to hear opinions in case she has to change her plans.

She always prefers the fun things rather than the tedious work that involves a lot of patience -- ie school work and cleaning around the house. That's not to say that she isn't smart. Erika is shown in the series that despite putting off all her summer homework until the very last week, she really does pay attention to school and knows a lot more than she lets on. She even helps her friends with their own school work when they're stumped for answers.

Erika has a good heart and she's loyal to the core once she becomes good friends with someone. She will not stand by as innocent people get hurt nor will she allow her friends to be bullied or to feel sad for any reason. Because once Erika gets mad.. there's no stopping her PRECURE BUTT PUNCH from winning and doing what's right.

Other:

As a regular civilian, Erika has no real special abilities to her name asides from uncanny skill to make beautiful clothes, accessorize, color coordinate and put fashion sets together. Or get in your face about all the things. It's only when she's transformed into Cure Marine that her super human abilities can be utilized.

As Cure Marine, she can leap over buildings in a single bound! She can run faster than a speeding bullet! And with the help of her fairy partner Coffret, she can even fly into space! She also has offensive attacks in the form of energy. They involve lots of explosions and/or silly names (Marine Impact, Marine Dynamite, Precure Butt Punch and Precure Forehead Punch to name a few). She can also call forth her weapon promptly called the Marine Tact to invoke the final attack on her enemies.

By herself, she can use the Blue Forte Wave which is a blue flower bud that shoots from the tip of the tact. Once it hits her intended target it turns into a large blue daisy that spins around until it "blooms" and effectively heals the enemy.

With any of the other Cures in her team she can use the Precure Floral Power Fortissimo. Filled with energy the two can effectively merge together to create a large heart which shoots right through enemy and heals them in an explosion of energy.

(This power only applies to after Itsuki has become Cure Sunshine) Precure Shining Fortissimo is done with Cure Blossom and Cure Sunshine. It's a level up from the Floral Power Fortissimo but with Sunshine's Gold Forte Burst to enhance their power. Very effect when all three girls are together.

(This power comes into effect after episode 38) And finally, with the help of the Heartcatch Mirage, Marine transforms into her Super Silhouette form with the other girls and is able to perform Precure Heartcatch Orchestra, which summons up a huge Pretty Cure Silhouette that ... punches their enemy into submission with love and friendship.

Normally, during the summer, Erika found that the summer heat was almost too unbearable to sleep through, even if she had all the fans on high and pointed in her direction. It always bothered her that her parents hadn't thought about getting air conditioning in all of the rooms. Really, it wasn't as if they were hurting for cash. The least they could have done was gotten air conditioning in the main rooms! However, all her concerns had been thrown out the window once a unit was finally installed into her room during the last week of summer break.

It made sleeping and being lazy so much easier and make no mistake. Erika was sure to take advantage of the bliss that was comfortable sleep.

"--ika.."

At least, that's what she thought when she heard a high pitched voice trying to slice through her fantastic dream... There was no way she was going to have anything interrupt her dream about being named one of the worlds' greatest fashion designers. She'd be at the high end of fashion like Valentino, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Vera Wang to name a few...

"...f'v mr mnnts..."

Confident she had shoo'd away that pesky voice, Erika's mind continued to wander; glittering after show parties with delicious hors d'oeuvre and drinks was where she had landed. It was the dream she had been working towards ever since she learned how to thread a needle; to make wonderful fashion so people could be happy wearing her creations. The parties and the glamour just so happened to be very large pros of creating fashion that everyone loved. She could see it all... the flashing lights as she left the show hall... walking down the red carpet to her fancy blue limo and...

"....Erika!"

.. that's strange. There was that voice again and it was coming from the limo driver who was holding the door open for her..

"Huh?"

Peering in closer to look at the face of her driver, the last thing she saw was the tiny little body of Coffret, her fairy partner, pop out from underneath the hat of the driver and attach himself to her face. It was like a scene from Alien with the face huggers, only this time it was cute, teal, white with floppy ears and successfully cutting off her circulation.

"ERIKA WAKE UP!"

Just the suddeness of her fairy partner appearing in her dreams and the lack of air was all Erika needed to jolt up in bed, roughly pulling at Coffret's tail until he was pulled off completely.

"What the heck...! Were you TRYING to kill me?! I could have really died!"

"You're the one who wouldn't wake up! It was the only thing I could do!" Coffret had this smug almost troll like look on his face and it fueled her need to wipe the expression he was wearing... Erika could only narrow her eyes at her little fairy, hands slowly raising so she could strangle the poor thing. "But, I guess if you don't want to finish your homework and go downtown to see the bazaar with Tsubomi then by all means, you should go back to sleep, desu."

. . . . .

There was a blank expression on Erika's face as her brain tried putting the pieces together. That's right. She was supposed to be going to the bazaar with Tsubomi at around two... but it was still early right? She had plenty of time to finish the rest of her-- "It's 12:45, desu."

Quickly, Erika threw Coffret to the foot of her bed while snatching up the clock she had on the night stand next to her bed. She saw as the big neon numbers switched from 12:45 to 12:46 and felt her whole entire body freeze on the spot. Her eyes gazed over to her coffee table where her open math assignment and blank note book lay.

And she still had three chapters of problems to do.

"COFFRET, WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP SOONER?!"

Erika practically sailed out of her bed and took up her spot at her table, not waiting for a response from the tiny fairy. (Who, btw, had just opted to shrugging and staying quiet. He had done his part in waking her up, after all!) Pencil in hand, there was only one thing Erika could think of as pencil lead starting flying over the lined paper...

GOD, SHE HATED SUMMER HOMEWORK.
